Coating is a barrier to moisture.

Coating is permeable to moisture.

Temperature Switch

The temperature switch is infinitely reversible, much like ice and water.

The switch can be set with a precision of 1-2° C.

Currently available commercially on Early Plant Corn

When soil temperature is too cold for healthy germination, the "intelligent" polymer maintains a dense crystalline structure around the seed.

The coating forms a barrier between the seed and the moisture in the soil, restricting the seed's ability to absorb water.

Whenever the soil warms to a temperature that is safe for healthy seedling growth, the "intelligent" polymer changes.

Its physical structure becomes amorphous, making it permeable to water, thus allowing the seed to absorb the moisture it needs to germinate.
