I’ve been single for a little over a year now. It’s definitely had its ups and downs. There have been times when it’s gotten a little bit lonely. So about a month ago, I started using Tinder. I’ve learned a few things in my short time of using the app, and I wanted to talk about them here.

Dating in this Day and Age Sucks

I don’t think this is unique to Tinder, but my use of the app just reinforced this idea. Let’s say you meet someone cool and you go on a date. Y’all get along and everything’s going well. But out of nowhere at any time, she could just stop texting and ghost you. And two weeks later, you see her on Instagram with some other dude.

Tinder is Great for Casual Fun

If you just want to hook up or go on a few dates or have some fun with no strings attached, Tinder is a great way to meet people. If you’re looking for an actual relationship, though, I’d stay away from using the app.

Most People Are More Focused on their Careers than Dating

Most of the people I’ve met are more worried about their jobs and getting promoted than they are settling down with someone and starting a family. That’s fine with me as I’m really into my career as well. Still, it would be nice to meet a girl I could be in a relationship with.

All-in-all, I’d say my impression of Tinder isn’t that great. It has its uses, sure, but I think there are better ways to meet people these days, especially people you want to have something more serious with at some point.
